YOU ARE SUCH A BRILLIANT MULTI-HYPHENATE (AKA BALANCING SEVERAL PROFESSIONS AND SKILLS), WITH ALWAYS A SMILE ON YOUR FACE. WHAT WAS IT LIKE WORKING WITH SO MANY OF MIAMI’S HIGH ENERGY FOUNDERS AND EAGER ENTREPRENEURS? AND WHAT DO YOU NOW CONSIDER TO BE YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT?
It’s an honor to come across opportunities to connect with creatives across the world that reside in miami. I’m always in awe with their work and passion for their craft. Their stories get me going and lending a helping hand to make some magic happen is fulfilling. My greatest accomplishment linked to that is, all the friendships that were formed.
WHAT LED YOU TO BE SO PASSIONATE FOR SUSTAINABLE BRANDS AND SLOW FASHION?
I’m more passionate about giving garment workers a voice, fair labor and ethical practices. I love fashion but fashion for good — for the people and for the world. People don't have to die for us to look good.
HOW DOES MIAMI INSPIRE YOU IN ALL THAT YOU CREATE FOR THE BRANDS YOU WORK WITH?
Miami is such a melting pot from the people to the locations. Every corner tells a story — so it’s effortless to incorporate or find a little corner to tell your own. About 75% of the brands I work with are abroad. It’s always very exciting for the Founder to see their products in a different scenery and or style.
YOU’RE ORIGINALLY FROM HAÏTI, WHAT ONE THING DO YOU MISS THE MOST? WHAT INSPIRATION DO YOU KEEP AT YOUR HEART THROUGH YOUR FAMILY ROOTS?
Correct! I was born in Haïti and raised in South Florida. The last time I've been back was at seven years old. I still have slight memories I still hold dear to my heart. I do miss my grandma and I'll definitely be keeping my family recipes close.
WHAT'S ONE PLACE SHOULD WE VISIT IN MIAMI?
Hmmm Büro Miami, there’s a good chance I'll be there rocking my Jibs.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR DAY TO DAY STYLE?
This is a tough one — But I’d say, ‘chic meets comfortable’. I don't limit myself when it comes to styling. I just want to look and feel my best. My friends describe me as fun and unique so my fashion style is almost a direct derivative of my personality.
I love fashion but fashion for good — for the people and for the world. People don't have to die for us to look good.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE JIBS SHOES, AND WHY DO YOU LOVE THEM?
Hands down Jibs Slim. There’s just something about the pointed toe that elevates a basic look. But my favorites come in waves —- when I first got introduced to Jibs I was all for the Classic. But now bury me in a Jibs Slim, preferably the Jibs Slim Teal Python. I did a Jibs shoot not too long ago and tried the Jibs Mid Rise, now I can't stop thinking how cute that outfit was. Still very much so #TeamJibSlim!
HOW DO YOU STYLE THEM?
Last time I styled them with one of my favorite dresses in the color mint heading to church and the time before with an all black look heading to the office. You really can't go wrong with these in your closet — They’re life savers for looking put together while being comfortable.
WHICH LOOK DID YOU LOVE THE MOST FROM THE JIBS SHOOT AND WHY?
I tried a Mid Rise for the first time and didn't think I'd love it this much! I can't stop thinking how cute that look was. Still very much so #TeamJibSlim!
WHAT IS YOUR BEST TIP FOR A CALMING DRIVE THROUGH MIAMI RUSH HOUR (OR ANY TIME AT THIS MOMENT!)?
Make a playlist if you haven't already — something to unwind to before you physically get to do so. Listen to a good podcast or use this time to connect with a good friend or family member you haven't heard from in a while.
WHERE DO YOU LIKE TO TRAVEL TO ON YOUR TIME OFF? WHETHER KEEPING LOCAL, OR HAVING TIME TO GET OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE?
I love to get away and be in nature. Whether in a cabin or tiny home in the woods or mountains, or keeping it local and venturing out to a park. Nature recharges and brings me to life.
ONE TIP FOR THOSE DAYS WHEN PERHAPS WE’RE RUNNING LATE AND NEED AN OUTFIT THAT POPS BACK UP OUR MOOD…?
If I'm running late, I rely on my basics to get me in tip top shape in no time. Reaching for a pair of denim, t-shirt and of course a pair of Jibs — throw on a few accessories and I'm out the door feeling confident!
